review 1: I am unnecessarily confused. This book was a romance, a mystery, and paranormal. I got the romance. The paranormal aspect wasn't bad. It's the mystery that tangled me up. I don't know if the author realized she left some major questions unanswered or if I somehow missed the book that preceeded this one. Too much was taken for granted. I felt like I was reading the sequel to something. The writing was also choppy so that made it even more trouble than it was worth. Two stars is being kind because it was free. Had there been a monetary exchange I would be raving about now.
review 2: I read a sneak peek of Soul Search a while back and it left me wondering what would happen with Grant and what had really happened to his nephew Tristan. I didn't think I wo... moreuld be that interesting since it's set in the 1930's. I got an ARC of Soul Search a few weeks ago. I couldn't put it down. The only thing that got between this book and me was work. I could only read a few pages a night. This is the best book I've read this year. Grant was saved three years ago by a woman so he could search for his nephew Tristian who was taken the night Grant was beaten. His sister Beatrice has stopped at nothing in her search for her son. She has found someone who she believes can help her find her son. Leigh is a young woman who with help from beyond can see things. Grant doesn't believe Leigh is someone believable. But a part of him knows Leigh can help, she has someone who can help Grant. I don't want to give anything away but once I started this book I didn't want to put it down. The description is so vivid, the characters are well developed and the chemistry is unbelievable. I love Grant and I really hope there's a sequel to this book. I didn't want the book to end, that's how hooked I was. Grant is a complicated man, which pulls you in makes you fall in love with him. I want more of Grant's story, of his past and what's to come for him. Amber Scott is an amazing writer. I can't wait to read whatever comes out from her next. I highly recommend this book. It's a great read that will keep you hooked until the very last page. And will keep you wanting more. I'll definitely read this one again. less
