review 1: Anyone who loves Billie Holiday and her music, would love this biography. While she was loved around the world she was loved by her favorite dog Mister. She was known as Lady Day and Mister was the one who inspired and protected her. He gave her the courage to step out onto a stage and own what she was feeling. This biography is great for music lovers of jazz.Great for graders 3rd though 5thGreat for boy and girls
review 2: My co-worker who is 30 years my senior had never heard of Billie Holiday...so how is it that I knew who Billie Holiday was? Oh well so we googled her music and although I am not a big jazz fan, I could hear the talent and passion she had for her music. This book was interesting but sad to hear about a life that was so short. She had a tough
... more life, a year in prison for drug possession, but her dogs kept her going. I like the illustrations and would be a great non-fiction book for older elementary school Great for Black History month, Jazz Appreciation or for do lovers. Very interesting! less
