review 1: The opening sentence: "Daniel looked at his sleeping Uncle and felt sad." OMG. Do you really have to say he "felt sad"?? The kid sits there crying, and you think you need to TELL us that he felt sad?? SHOW us, don't TELL us, fercrissake.""Me, too. I've never felt this way before, Josh. I'll admit this scares me a little, but I'd be even more afraid of what I know I'd miss in my life if I didn't touch you, kiss you, and hold you close to me.""Really?? Does ANYONE really talk like this??Arg arg arg. Annoying writing throughout. And the MCs exchange wedding rings when they've known each other LESS THAN A MONTH.Well anyway, you can tell I wasn't terribly impressed. It's a simple story -- emotionally remote man takes on the care of his young nephew after nephew's parents are ki... morelled. Everyone is unhappy for a year. Man then hires a live in manny for nephew (a nurse can AFFORD a live in manny?? Really??). Naturally, they fall in love. The End.
review 2: Very sweet story about Josh trying to raise his 7-year-old nephew Daniel after his twin sister and brother-in-law are killed. He's having a hard time managing it all and decides to hire a nanny to help. The last applicant turns out to be a young, attractive, gay man, Nick, who has dreams of opening his own daycare center. Josh is instantly attracted to Nick, but he wants to be sure he is the right person to halp with Daniel. The story takes place during the holidays and Nick and Josh have a difficult time not acting on the attraction they feel - so eventually they stop trying. They decide to go for it, without letting Daniel know about their budding relationship to see if they can make it work. Very cute story with a lovely HEA. Danny is the cutest with his Christmas wishes to God. less
