review 1: This is a sweet tale of two office workers – the sort of nerdy engineer Preston and the party boy Justin. Preston loves his job, Justin hates his. When Preston gets the courage to invite Justin out (luckily not in Justin’s head where he is chastising Preston for the effects the brightness of his shirt are gaving on the hungover Justin), he is so sweet and adorable. He has to work up to a “sassy wink”, but Justin had already looked away. Preston is just cute. When Preston takes Justin to lunch (on infamous hangover day), I felt so bad for him at one point, apologizing for what he thinks is bulldozing Justin into going. There are a couple spots where I felt bad for Preston, because of other people. The first half of this was a solid 4 for me, but then it sort o... moref went really quickly with a lot of endearments “beautiful”. I thought there was a lot of potential to develop the relationship that was passed up making it a little too simple. Romantic and cute, a fluffy one!
review 2: Adorable characters with a sweet happy ending. I enjoyed the "geek factor" in this book. Sweet, quirky, shy Preston takes the initiative in this story to finally establish first a friendship then a relationship with the man he's had his eye on for months - Justin. Justin has only really ever noticed Preston as one of the engineers he works for and he never showed any interest in spending time with Preston. But once Preston gains the nerve to ask Justin out to lunch, a bond is formed between the two that only grows stronger throughout the story. It's a very sweet, light read with a happy ending. (And FYI, as an Arkansas girl, myself, I can attest that if you've ever been to Disco and seen Kelly Cruise, she's always on point and so very entertaining.) less
