review 1: Trouble Maker was about the main trouble maker in the school. However, when his big brother got home from jail, he made Clay straighten up his act. Clay had so much trouble resisting all the pranks that he would normally pull but, he didn’t want to let his brother down. Eventually people started to notice that Clay was acting different and started taking advantage of his new “niceness”. On Halloween, when Clay stayed in, someone pulled a prank on the principle and had framed Clay! At first the principal thought that Clay was also the perpetrator behind this act, until Clay went ant personally talked to him and explained his innocence. The principal knew that Clay was working to be better and that it was unlikely that he did it. Clay didn’t get in trouble for the ac... moret and at the end Clay’s best friend confessed to being to pulling the prank. Instead of getting upset Clay was ok and insisted that they remain friends.I thought that this book was ok, I would have the students read it individually so they could see how much better off Clay was when he stopped causing so much trouble. It also demonstrated how people will tend to not believe you if you are known for lying and causing trouble.
review 2: We really enjoyed this audio book. My 7 and 9 yr old boys listened the whole time and it was interesting to us parents too. I loved the overall message of the book and will have to read more by Clements since I loved the message in Frindle as well.The one negative is that they kept saying the word, jackass. If I'd read it out loud myself to the kids I could have just substituted "donkey." less
