review 1: I think I might be mixing up the order of this series, not sure. Oh well, I'm nothing if not consistent in not getting the order of a series right. :)3.5*I know what to expect when I read an Andrew Grey book, a sweet story, with nice guys, some issues but not a lot of angst or drama. The blurb sums it up well, Gary jumps in last minute as Phillip's roommate for a cruise, his first one and his first real splurge, life hasn't always been easy, but it's ok.On the cruise he meets Scott, who is traveling with Lonnie, Cory,Gene and Dan ( from the Pump Up series) there are also all the characters from this series (Bottled Up) on the cruise. Now I might have mentioned I have the horrible habit of not reading series in order, I forget to check and just read and then wonder about thi... morengs. I think this can be stand alone although I'm sure it's nicer to know all the other guys while reading it, it's not necessary.Anyway, Scott has been released from prison after being railroaded and wrongly convicted, he still has nightmares, low self esteem and he has a stalker. But the two men really connect during the cruise and (eventually) want to make it work.I like that these guys are all pretty 'normal', no multi-millionaires, no super stars etc. just guys making a living, living a life and falling in love.
review 2: I loved this installment of the Bottled Up series! The plot was very unique and different from anything I’ve come across to date. The author was able to make me feel a ton of empathy and pain for the horrible experiences that Scott had to endure, as well as happiness and hope for second chances and true love! I’m pretty sure I experienced a misty eye or two during a couple of spots in the story – a definite sign that I’m very invested in the characters and story:) I thoroughly enjoyed getting to revisit most of the cast of characters from this series in this one particular story. I was vicariously reliving my own adventure on a cruise (many years ago now) as all of the wonderful experiences were shared in the book. I’d call this one my favorite of the series and was thinking that the author saved the best for last; however, Book 5 just came out, so I’ll have to reserve judgment for now! less
