review 1: ****audibles edition****I only listened to the first chapter of this audiobook before I gave up. I am not sure who makes the decision on who narrates M/M romance, but they really did a bad job on this choice. The narrator sounded like the same narrator from Winnie the Pooh. That is NOT what I want to hear when listening to romance. It was rather creepy to hear him talking about sex.
review 2: I wanted to rate this one higher, but I couldn't. Why? Because of Howard. I kept wanting to quote Lady Gaga while reading:"Don't be a drag, just be a queenWhether you're broke or evergreenYou're black, white, beige, chola descentYou're Lebanese, you're orientWhether life's disabilitiesLeft you outcast, bullied, or teasedRejoice and love yourself today'cause baby y
... moreou were born this way"Really though, I felt like Howard was still blaming someone or something that he was blind. He's had what? 30 years? I am guessing around there, I don't remember a specific age mentioned, but I am guessing around 30 to come to terms with that fact that he has a disability. He's blind. He HAS to be dependent on someone. It's a given. He needs help. We ALL need help and it's okay to ask for it. He was still so bitter and angry, it made me not like him. Patrick, from the first book, man I loved him. His accident was 2 years prior and yes he was mad because he used his voice daily for a profession in singing, but he got on with life. While Howard NEVER had sight, yet still acts like someone owes him something because of it. Also, he talked about his blindness ALL THE TIME! Yes, he's blind, nothing you can do about it. Why not show people who you are and what you have rather than pointing out the obvious? I mean, even when talking with his sister who has been with him all his life and knows how he was growing up and still talks about his blindness like it's a new thing. I can see talking with someone new about it, but his own sister? Weird.I felt like this one book was too focused on his blindness and not about Howard and Gordy's relationship. I would have liked to have seen more of that. I think I would have liked to get inside Gordy's head, too. I never felt a connection with them. Were they in love? I have no idea. I didn't feel it.I sent both of my girls to a private school that was mainly for special needs, but there were kids there who were "typical" including my kiddos. I want to show them that everyone is different and that's okay. I want them to play with kids in wheelchairs or talk to kids who are blind or try and communicate with the kids who are deaf. My oldest takes sign language because she really wants to learn how to talk with one of her friend the way his parents talk to him. I have encouraged my kids to see that everyone may be different, but in the end, we are all the same. People. We are around people who have differences all the time. We see it, yet we don't judge or point it out.Overall, it was okay. I liked Gordy :) He was strong and supportive. It was also nice to see Ken, Patrick, and Hanna again. less

Another sweet story. Better buy those tissues in bulk if you are reading the series. =)
