review 1: This is an absolutely delightful and entertaining read. Shaffer writes in a sardonic, yet tragic, sense of humor, wherein he recounts numerous lives of famous philosophers highlighting the extant whereto they miserably failed at love. This book is as tragic as it is encouraging. Definitely worth picking up and reading through for some deep reflections and good laughs notwithstanding.Brent McCulley
review 2: A fun little book that gives a quick glimpse into the torrid love affairs and heartaches of some of the most famous minds in history. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it was interesting to see that some of the noted intellectuals could be so absolutely hopeless when comes to love and romance. Reading this book has definitely increased my interest in lear... morening more about some of these people so I'll be keeping my eye for biographies during my next library trip. less
