review 1: 3 and 1/2 stars:This book is geared towards those that watch all of those cheesy movies on the SyFy channel. While I was familiar with a handful of the movies referenced, I was not familiar with most. I believe this has a big effect on how much (or how little) one would enjoy this book.There is a lot of humor interspersed throughout the book, and the book is very clever. My unfamiliarity with all of the SyFy channel movies, however, meant that I could not enjoy this book to the fullest. I could easily see someone that always watches the SyFy channel giving this book 4 or 5 stars. By the same token, I could see someone in the complete dark about the SyFy channel giving this book only 1 or 2 stars.All in all, the book is clever and a quick read. I could recommend for t... morehose that at least watch some of the movies on SyFy.
review 2: Filled with puns, bad jokes, and things that couldn't possibly happen... I mean... could they? this book made laugh out loud (and by that I mean exhale louder than I normally would) on several occasions.I feel totally prepared now. I believe I can take out a whole pack of sharknados... even a mothman. But put me up against a ghost shark and I'm probably good as dead. Would totally recommend this book to anyone who needs a laugh. less
