review 1: I enjoyed it but the character was a carbon copy of David Gemmell's Druss but without Druss's humanity. Kell was a version of Druss where the demon infested axe he had (Snaga) had turned him into a psychopath with a just a flicker of humaninty left. Still the action was great though very dark, the book ended where it seemed everyone was screwed and I havent been able to get hold of any of the others in the series as yet...
review 2: OK – most of the family probably wouldn’t enjoy it as it’s basically R rated. ... morey likable. Just enough main characters are killed to make the heroes not seem entirely invincible and fake. I look forward to reading the other two books in the series. less
