review 1: I really enjoyed the story and the historical setting. The story captured my attention quite thoroughly and the execution was lovely, made the 16th century Persian court come to life, in all its glory and gore. I really felt attached to Pari and Javaher. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy historical fiction and would enjoy the more exotic location and time, it is a bit difficult to follow all the names at first, but after a few chapters it is not an issue.
