review 1: I enjoyed reading this book but it was a little bit of a let-down after reading the first book in the series and it looks as though this series is a bit bland compared to the Luxe series. The writing style is pretty and light and the cover design is beautiful and recognisable as a series, which I like, but the story lacked spice, in my opinion. It wasn't bad and it definetely gets bonus points for not being all about the love interests. Though one of the main characters was annoyingly dependent on her man, the other two had interests and adventures other than men that were very interesting to read about. I'm particularly curious where Letty's story will go in the next book, so I'll probably read the next book, but I hope it's a little bit more interesting than this one. I ... morethought Bright Young Things, the first book in the series, was a little slow because it was setting up the series, but Beautiful Days was actually less interesting and it didn't feel as if the story was really building up and getting into pace. I hope that that will finally happen in the third book.
review 2: I'm seeing some character development! This series keeps getting better and better. Can't wait till I get my hands on the third. Sometimes (mostly) Astrid and Cordelia seem to only be able to spoil themselves. Especially when the first chapters are spent by the pool or drinking at some party. But then the author proves me wrong and the girls finally do something worthy. Beautiful Days is introducing a new Cordelia Grey. This one is now a real member of the family, and has to take care of some of the bootlegging business. As a trustworthy sister Charlie let's her run her own club. Off course everything isn't going smoothly with the Greys and the Hales that seek revenge on each other. So most of the novel is dominated by how Cordelia and Charlie manage on their own. This is also something that is resulting in that Astrid Donal (Charlie's fiancée and Cordelia's new best friend) and Letty Larkspur feel left out. Astrid and Letty tries to go their own paths in different ways without the Greys. Ms Donal socializes and gets drunk at speakeasies while Ms Larkspur is looking for a job that can lead her to a career as a singer. Off course in between all of this there is A LOT of drama and gossip. Many heartbreaking things and what I love most; REVENGE. The new Cordelia Grey is no fool for Thom Hale. Still waiting for him to die. Just saying. It's okay to not be a pacifist while reading. Okay. Oh, and one more thing; There will be some ... MAX DARBY8 (my OTP omg), less
