review 1: I enjoyed Caro, she reminded me of a mix of two sisters and I unfortunately would be Hannah, the saintly one. But really on a deeper level, I came to understand the characters and their situations because we all have things that we are struggling with, just like the characters who are presented on the page. And in many ways this novel gave me some perspective on my life. Thanks, to the others who may be considering it: do read and enjoy this book.
review 2: If the ending had been stronger I would have given this wonderful book five stars. The main characters are well-drawn, especially the two sisters. We can indeed be haunted by events in our lives, even ones less traumatic than the one in this book. I wanted to keep reading and to keep learning more about the
... moreMitchell sisters. I urge you to read this book which you can hand to any young person in your life without embarassment. Caro is asking many of the same questions about God and life that all young people (and not so young people) ask. Read this one. less

Not your typical teenage family drama story. This one has teeth and is worth the read.

Fascinating young adult novel...incorporated faith, family, and high school.
