review 1: **This is my review on the whole series.**"This is the truth. This a world where everyone makes mistakes, even the incredibly naive girl who is usually the victim of a boy's insensitivity and temper. No one is truly innocent in this world, no one. People who believe themselves to be perfect,are the worst one's of all.""He doesn't know what love is."I start scrolling through the list of romantic novels and note that common sense is not something usually seen in any of these stories."Soo.. let's get this over with. I have read this book like 2 years ago? on wattpad obviously and since back then I have had mixed thoughts about this book. But all I can remember is that no other book has got me this invested, to be honest this book is what got me into obsessing over books. But... more then I started to have second thoughts, when the book got more popular, published, called a porno etc. . And to be honest a lot of people who reviewed have a lot of valid points.I decided to reread it again. what I found? I was absolutely engulfed in the story all over again but I still fail to conclude my thoughts over this book. This book is about adultery, self-discover, self-destruction and having a full adult life at a young age. well not exactly this book.. let's say what the whole series is about. Hardin is an angry man, his whole life he has been this way. he's empty and hollow, his tendency to engulf himself in books, classic novels to be specific, is what he has incommon with tessa young. the girl who has him insecure about himself, he thought that she got it all and his instinct is to come back at her and hurt her. messed up, I know but that's what makes this story compelling as he begins to unravel parts of tessa, she never knew of herself. And the picture he had of tessa as an obnoxious snobby judgmental blonde begins to be replaced by someone who listens to him, believe him-even if it's bull shit sometimes and he knows it- and most of all someone whom their compassion and tendency to make excuses for people and forgive, grabs him and lets him show and share the vulnerabilities that he has been hiding from everybody, himself included. This story shows the true nature of most humans, the instinct to come back at people for hardin is so real. Tessa and hardin had too much energy, passion and back forth, they both never want to admit to. Everytime they part and meet, thet pull each other in the others life deeper. There's so much effort put in their relationship, whethet at ignoring each other or spending the whole day together.And that's where people begin to call it a stereotypical story and I agree with them when I consider how many stories embrace the idea of the "chase" but that's where the similarities end. That's where the story is more about adultery, the way when you grow up and you begin to get your first taste of freedom. The way tessa discovers her sweet highschool boyfriend isnot what she needs at this point in her life. She begins to get infatuated by hardin, the boy who knows how to push her every single button, challenge her and bring out the fire in her that has almost died in her over the years when she kept most people out. Also that's where this story isnot another stereotypical badboy-goodgirl story. Neither tessa nor hardin are sociable, hardin wasn't that popular dude who had chicks all over him but he was much of an ass hole whom everyone distanced themselves from, liked to keep for himself and had no one to care about and that's exactly how he sees himself. He keeps his badboy fascade on and shows no weakness, they way tessa keeps her "perfect image",infront of her mum, Liam and Noah-pretty much everyone too. They had more in common than what eyes would usually be able to see and that gives the statement "Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." all the mind blowing, heart-wrenching meaning. With the captivating vulnerability tessa begins to see and the determination to make their relationship work, the fire in tessa is more ignited than ever, pulling and tieing hardin to her in a way he never thought he could be capable of. The story is so full of strong brief emotions, tension and anger that pulls under. Throughout the whole story, I saw the way love could make you give the person you love, things you never intended to let anyone take before. The way everyday you give a little bit of yourself to the other person. And that's what made the story so compelling. People say their relationship is abusive but what I think is they are people who got issues-like issues within themselves, having a lot involved together. they don't seem like "boyfriend, girlfriend issues" but issues they have to conquer witihin themselves. They're both pretty fucked up. And as the story unfolds, hardin begins to show her how many battles within himself he went through to reach out for her and get rid of his anger. Some people say that the way tessa forgives hardin is too unrealistic but to me, the way the book is written makes up for the lack of sense some people would throw at tessa. The way tessa's view of her interactions and encounters with hardin is really realistic and pretty philosophical. What I mean is, that the author explained what goes through tessa's head in a way that made her seem so real and grew a connection with the reader. It became easier to symphasize with her as if she's someone you know. Also she, as a character has developed through the entire story, with hardin as well. I don't think most writers know how to give a character a dimension nor bring them to life the way anna todd did.I still don't believe how no one pointed that out yet, but tessa is a really relatable character -maybe because I am a lot like her?- but still nothing is as great as when you read a book and see yourself in it, the way you view,see most things, it makes it more engaging to the story. *sighs* I know my words won't be able to change everyone's minds and opinions on this story but I am just pointing out the things that makes this story stand out even though on the surface it seems like another badboy-goodgirl story.**I'd like to add something, I have heared a lot of people comparing this book to Fifty shades of grey, which is obviously a book, which doesn't have the best reputation. What I want to say, is that I didn't read that series, so I can't judge if this book is really another "adolescent fifty shades rip-off" or not. Also, I gave this book 4 stars, why? The intimate scenes in this book and the whole series, get a little bit too much. And I admit sometimes while reading, I was thinking, okay this getting a little bit of a porno. Maybe that has something to do with the fact, that I pretty much haven't read anything out of the young-adult genre, except for this. So I don't really know if most romance-relationship- involving books are like this. And these type of books aren't my usually my thing, so. I also understand that a romantic-well this book is not exactly romantic though- but anyway, a relationship, of course well contain such scenes, also considering they're both adults- but it's too much. A little bit too much. Maybe I am one of the little people who might share this opinion and still like the book, considering how I try to ignore the fact, that infact a lot of people, like this book for the sex and think these scenes are okay and necessary. Still, I think, at this point, this what makes the relationship a bit dysfunctional, the author ruins her work, it's like all of what's left of tessa's common sense is thrown out the window.
review 2: pffffff I expected more....I don't know what to say...the first one was fine, but this one....it's a really bad and insane and no sense relationship, there are only jelous and fight about stupid things and jelous and they not trust one to each other and jelous and jelous.....what??? and people can think that this love is great???!!! this love is a big shit! is it even love????? I mean... c'mon...nobody could suppport this relationship.....and the both characters...Tessa and Hardin...I don't know who I like less because both of them are stupid and like 5 years old....and Hardin is sexist! ooooooh lord..." I'm not Going to Seattle with Tess,she's going to England with me because she can't stay without me" WHAT THE FUCK!!!!???I have to say a lot of things but my english is not good so...I'll stop now because I don't know to express everyting I want less
