review 1: This book takes a cute, fresh approach to the typical ballerina story. The illustrations and book design are superb and set a nice tone. (My daughter says: "I liked the pictures because they were at nighttime.") The story itself is based on one that has been told many times, about a little girl who dreams of being a ballerina and must work hard to achieve her goal. The difference is that Vampirina has a few concerns that non-vampires need not consider, and that is what makes the story fun.

I also was disappointed in the obvious "girl" emphasis. The illustrations and glitter will be a big hit, though. less
