review 1: This second book featuring Anne Marie Pace's Vampirina Ballerina tells about her preparations for an exciting sleepover at the castle. Like any thoughtful hostess, she wants her friends from ballet class to have a great time, so she plans a bit of a pink makeover (just a little) at her place so they'll feel welcome. Her mom and dad are a little shocked but eventually get into the spirit of the thing. Even the butler dons a festive Hawaiian shirt for the occasion! LeUyen Pham's illustrations are really delightful, evoking the excitement and drama of a little girls' party, and young readers will love them!
review 2: Vampirina is throwing the best sleepover party ever and she walks you through the steps to making your sleepover successful. While Vampirina is an ad... moreorable character and I know several little girls who would enjoy having a fun guide like this. However, I found it to be a little boring. I'm sure that this isn't as boring when read with the other book with this character; I'm sure it helps to know the character already. The book covers some good points about things like how you should be nice to someone who gets homesick. I just don't really see this as a reread by any means. less
