review 1: Through this book Anuja Chauhan, for me is somewhat like Zoya Akhtar. The book has an ensemble cast, a richly woven quilt of the 'pricey thakur girls' and all the friends and the rishtedaar and who's who. A lovely Indian rom-com, 'Those Pricey Thakur Girls' is a joy to read. It is bold, quirky and sexy; capturing the superstitions, jamais, property hissa disputes, eloped daughters, and so on of a typical Indian family. And lastly, I'm now setting out to look for a certain sexy-jawed, angel eyed journalist of the Indian Post. Looking for Dylan Singh Shekhawat sans Debjani Thakur though!
review 2: i loved it. You never know how deep your chick lit humor craving is until you encounter something like this, where at moments you have to put the book down for a while,
... more have a good hearts laugh and then resume the reading.it has its Jane-austenish touch - with 5 daughter family of the late- eighties of india and yet it's different. Like the way narrative is, it seems exclusively for indian readers (which weirdly made me feel special, and connected with fellow indian readers). loved the usage of indian slang and mixed hindi in the book - it bought out a whop of hilariousness. it's just, i havent read such a nice, light, romantic read in a long time. loved it :) less
