review 1: The second book in the dollhouse series is not quite as thrilling or creepy as the first book, but it's still a good and quick read. Again I couldn't put the book down. I enjoyed learning more about Jessamine and her family's history. Be prepared to gasp aloud as Paper Dolls gives you twists and turns you never saw coming. Not as good as the first and still grammatical errors and confusing parts so only 3 stars. However, I would still recommend it. Especially if you loved The Dollhouse.
review 2: The writing in this series is mediocre to poor. What keeps me reading, and what made me swallow this book whole the minute I got the email that it was up, is the plot. It's effing weird. I'm a huge (adult, not YA) horror fan, and this series is creepy enough that it to... moretally captures my attention despite the weak characterization and erratic pacing. The first book, which describes the dollhouse and the incredibly creepy characters inside it, is much more engrossing. But, I enjoyed this book because it gave me what I wanted to know about many other fantasy series - what happens after they leave the fantasy. Paper Dolls is the story of Cassie and some of her friends after the events of the first book. It describes the media attention and psychological aftermath of the events of the first book. Even though I know this isn't really a GOOD series, it's engrossing. I'll read the third book, too. less
