review 1: After I read Tag Man, I couldn't wait to get my hands on another Archer Mayor book. I know I have said it before regarding his books, but it is so cool to read descriptions of towns that I actually know. This time we go from Boston to Holyoke to Northampton to Burlington and still find a way to work good ole Brattleboro into the mix. I couldn't put this book down. The characters came and went quickly and you were just waiting for the next page to see where they would turn up next (or in some cases never turn up again). It's hard to believe this story fit into 306 pages, but I think that shows the author's keen ability to skip the fluff and get to the point and deliver a fast-paced story.
review 2: The latest entry in a good solid series. The author actual
... morely is a part-time M.E. and investigator in Vermont so his characters and places ring true. This book takes place mostly in Northampton, Mass and involves cooperation between different forces, etc. A good plot that moves right along and delivers a little twist at the end. I also like the way Mayor handles the aging of his main character, Joe Gunther. less

This one was set in the city where I live, so it was an interesting connected. A good crime story.
