review 1: This is my first review on this site, so lets see if i can make a comprehensive critique. Coyote moon was probably the worst in this collection,, which is a shame because it was the first one you read. I didn't believe the characters, they just don't't have the Joss Whedon wit. The plot itself was not very good, and reminded me a lot of the episode of BtVS where there were was an evil hyena shaman, but not in a good way, as it felt like stealing.The Night of the Living Rerun, I didn't mind that much. It was an interesting read, depicting the beloved Buffy cast being possessed by spirits long dead, and tied nicely with the whole Master plot in season 1. I got a kick imagining Xander with a womanly walk, and the nice little bit about Willows past-life was cute.I thought that... more Portal Through Time was a chaotic adventure which didn't seem very plausible (I know, its a story about vampires, but still). Don't get me wrong, it was a well written, action packed story, with nice moments like Buffy connecting to the other slayers. It was really violent as well, with a lot of near fatal scraps most of the characters received (including another infamous Giles Knock out). It even upped the Buffy death toll, although that's open to debate since the villains traveled to a time where the deaths never happened.I'm giving the first story a 2, the second a 4, and the third a 3. Its the first non-comic Buffy story i read (if you don't count fan-fiction). I shall give a review of the next two collections in the future.
review 2: Loved it, was a fan of the series but this is even better. The bad thing about tv shows is that you can't take them with you anywhere unless you buy one. Books you can cart anywhere. This was my sole companion when the power totally blacked out last summer in wv. If I hadn't had the book I believe I would have died of boredom.. But while the plots are great I thought a couple were badly written which is why I rated it a three. less
