review 1: What a beautiful story! Ide ceritanya gak biasa saya baca dan meski full angsty, saya masih bisa ngerasa hati saya ikutan lumer membaca cerita ini dari awal sampai akhir. Ceritanya diawali dengan berita kematian Ian George dan Angela, Ian adalah suami dari Leah sekaligus sahabat dari Sebastian--suami Angela. Kematian dua orang tadi membawa aib yang luar biasa bagi pasangan yg mereka tinggalkan, karena ternyata mereka berdua terlibat perselingkuhan. So, pasti udah ketebak kan kalo Hero-Heroinenya (Sebastian-Leah) adalah sepasang duda-janda yang dipersatukan oleh sebuah skandal perselingkuhan almarhum-almarhumah pasangan mereka. Yup... Tapi ceritanya engga sesimple itu. Novel ini bukan cuma sekedar tentang angsty-nyw pengkhianatan dan sakit hati, tapi juga tentang memulihkan... more kesedihan, belajar mencintai lagi, dan keinginan untuk lepas dari kekangan. Jujur, saya sampai ga bisa berhenti baca. ;)
review 2: 4.5. This is a story about two people's separate paths towards healing following the betrayals by their now deceased spouses with one another. While Leah embraced life and her new independence with great gusto, Sebastian was consumed by anger and hurt and his pain remained fresh. Yet in spite of their different ways of dealing with their shared secret heartbreak, they found themselves irresistibly drawn towards each other. However, for all Leah's public displays of moving on with life, inwardly she remains haunted by the events of the past, and consequently is afraid of considering a future with Sebastian. Lovely rapport and at times humerous banter between the two provides light interludes amidst the aching dark despair in the aftermath of discovering the extent of the betrayal. A story well told but let down a bit by the dousy love scene. Why he has to ask Leah, about what she and Ian got up to each step of the way, was beyond me. less
