review 1: I enjoyed this so much. I love mysteries set in England in the 30s, and this one had a refreshing situation: a marriage in trouble with neither party willing to admit it or even talk honestly, although much witty banter went back and forth with little sincerity. Very Thin Man. And a nice change from the young woman trying to land the man or have him declare his love, etc. This was what happens five years down the line after the Happily Ever After thing. It didn't hurt that the heroine's husband was gorgeous and charming, with murder and suspicion mixed in. I'm looking forward to Weaver's second.
