review 1: This book made me laugh and cry by turns, made me thankful and terrified all at once and provided much needed reassurance that the overwhelming love and affection that I feel for my granddaughter is not so uncommon and certainly not over the top. Some essays made my heart hurt for those grandma's that have difficult relationships with their grand child's parents or those who's grandchildren live far away. The book re-ignited the guilt I felt for taking my children away from their grandmothers when we moved, and deepened my resolve to stay within easy driving distance of my grandbaby. For any woman who has been blessed, because truly it is an absolute blessing, with grandchildren, this is one you'll want to read.
review 2: Wide range of "Grandmother" situations ... moreare explored by various authors. Total range of emotions occurred as I read the book. Made me think of my two grandmothers and how I was in 5th grade when I realized one side of my family was my mothers and one my fathers. Until then I thought both of my parents belonged to both of my grandparents! I don't picture myself as being as old as my Grandmothers were but my grand kids probably do!! less
