review 1: This is definitely not a series that you can read out of order. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the author took the time to note that at the beginning of the book. Not all authors would bother.Layla continued to amaze me. I was swept away right with her. The story was amazing. Getting to know her family and watching her begin to learn magic was highly enjoyable. It all added up to a very enjoyable read. I would definitely like to make a note that there is a lot of sexual scenes, so it is NOT YA friendly.
review 2: After reading the first book in this Mystic Series, I had to have the next one ASAP. Layla loses her mom, ends up finding her birth family, and learns that she is a witch. She also has Quin, the sexy, good/bad-boy who is her lifeline even thoug... moreh he has his faults. The bad guy is still after her and another (probably) bad guy shows up in this book, Findley. This is a touching story with plenty of drama and danger thrown in. I recommend this book and give it 5 stars! less
