review 1: This is probably one of a trilogy but it doesn't feel like it. Instead it feels like one book that has been cut to make it one book of a series. It's not a bad book but nothing interesting really happens after Ilsa / Theresa makes it to the pleasure house. I'd recommend the Jacqueline Carey's fantastic Kushiel series if you are looking for a fantasy novel featuring intrigue. To be honest the author of Passion Play was probably hoping for this to be the new Kushiel series but falls flat after a promising start
review 2: At first I was really interested. Actually, I'm still interested because the story in an interesting one. However, I abhor every single character. The decision are ridiculous and they don't feel like real people. They feel like characters. Yo
... moreu can feel Bernobich bending them to her will instead of it seeming like lived playing out. I had to stop several times to just laugh because what in the world were they thinking? The writing in terms of style wasn't too bad. If you don't mind terrible characters then this is a good book. less
