review 1: Entertaining! A solid young adult vampire fantasy where the protagonists are of course locked into a love... parallelogram? Anyways, it's entertaining enough that I finished it in four days. It has enough tension to keep my interest, and the main character did not annoy me, despite being a teenager. I enjoyed it, and I'm moving on to the next book in the series. If you liked Twilight but wanted to murder Bella, and if you enjoy Laurel K Hamilton but want something "G-rated" (Or just need a break from the smut) then you'll enjoy this.
review 2: 3.7I liked the way this book portrayed vampires and how much it made you think about them in the real world. Some of the underlying themes were very inspiring, and I like how Jessica grew into herself. The beginning isn't... more that great in my opinion, and it doesn't start to show its true potential for some time. Patience is required, but the characters, though stupidly stubborn at times, demand some respect for that same vexing will. Overall, a nice read. less
