Masque of the Red Death
review 1: One of the best things is when an author takes a story from another and makes it into something amazing. This is what happens, Griffin takes one of Edgar Allen Poe's well known short stories and makes it something that will keep you reading. It was almost painful for me to put down this book and when I picked it back up; magic happened right before my eyes. It was beautiful. This novel takes Poe's "Masque of the Red Death" and makes it into her own world without forgetting the original story. This book will have you staying up for countless hours to finish it, that's what it did to me!
review 2: The premise of this story and how it is based on plague and is supposed to be quite related to Edgar Allen Poe's creepy tales has always intrigued me. At the beginning
... moreit was actually a little slow and the world building I think could have been improved. The characters also were a weird mix and sometimes I was not sure really how I felt about them. Towards the end, the story really picked up and got nerve-racking and exciting. I do wish more questions had been answered in the first book but I will definitely be picking up the second one. less
