review 1: I recently read Bethenny's latest books and found myself surprisingly enjoying them. They're not literary masterpieces or anything, but I like her voice and the way she tells stories. Both books mentioned this book many times and it made me curious about it and her "naturally thin" philosophy. This was an interesting read, because her 10 rules are so simple and yet people don't usually think of them. I already eat some of the ways she suggested (nothing is off-limits if you use portion control, stop eating when you're full, etc.) but other suggestions were new to me. I spent today thinking about some of her tips such as the "bank balance" one as I ate, and I honestly felt lighter after breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don't agree with everything she says - who is going to sp... moreend money on something decadent just to take two bites and throw the rest away!? - but a lot of it makes sense. I also copied down some of her recipes and will be giving them a try.
review 2: An interesting book that I read in two days. It felt like two books in one. The first half provided some very good guiding principles. The second half turned into a diet book which this promised not to be. This really is a book that will guide you to skinniness rather than slimness and probably only suitable for those that have pretty good self discipline as most of the time only a 'couple of bites' were recommended. It was amusing including repeatedly stealing food off your friends/family plates......you will need some very understanding friends if you are going to follow this! less
