review 1: Good compelling mystery. I appreciated the Samantha character and was rooting for her in her personal struggles. As a former reporter I particularly enjoyed the reporting parts and scenes in the newspaper. I did find it a bit hard to believe Samantha would be reporting on the death of her own sister, but every paper is different. The adventures save her and provide for a great story. I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and am looking forward to reading the second one in the series.
review 2: Good murder, mystery readI enjoyed reading this and also for the fact that for once I was able to read a book without all the cursing that so many books have. It was a good murder, mystery about a news reporter, Sam, whose sister was found murder by apparently jum... moreping to her death. Of course, Sam didn’t believe this and made it her mission to find out the true. Through out the book you learn about alcoholism and how Sam denies that she is an alcoholic. All of the characters are well thought out and developed. The plot is good and has many twist and turns. You learn not only about alcoholism but also about the newspaper business. This was my first read by author Betta Ferrendelli but won’t be my last. less
