review 1: This is such a cute children's book series. I read this book with my son and we both enjoyed it very much. Humphrey the hamster is a very entertaining narrator and the problems that he, Mrs. Brisbane, and the students in her class face each day were all problems that were easy for my son to relate to so it made for a very engaging read for him. He's already begging me to take him back to the library to get another Humphrey book so he can see what happens next in Mrs. Brisbane's class.
review 2: This was the first Humphrey book I have read so I didn't really know who some of the characters were that Humphrey referred to, but it didn't really interfere with my understanding of the plot. The story did seem to drag out, like the author was trying to make the story... more longer than it needed to be, but I think children 9 and under would still enjoy this series. It's a good step up from beginning chapter books into a bit longer chapter book. It would also make for a good read aloud. less
