The Boy WHo Came In From The Cold
review 1: This book left me in tears, I had to do a ten km walk the following morning, but could not bring myself to put the book down.Todd and Gabe's story wasn't just moving, it shook the foundations of my belief. The fact the author show's that a human's we are capable of great kindness and not just great horror was amazing, his ability to take issues like sexual molestation and remain true to the tale he was weaving, is a rare skill.I have said previously but it is my belief that any author that can leave a reader cold from the power of their words, or better yet in tears, to me is a true artist, because to have the ability to reach out to a person like this is a rare skill, and one that should not be hidden from the wold.
review 2: “The Boy Who Came in From the Cold
... more” is a love story involving Todd, a young man living on his own on the cold streets who is rescued by an older, generous man named Gabe. It begins with a friendly gesture of offering coffee and a sandwich which then turns into Todd spending a night out of the cold.Todd and Gabe soon realize that they have both had troubled pasts involving love and sex and find comfort with one another. Their differences also complement each other well and their newly formed friendship turns into love.I really enjoy B.G. Thomas’s style of writing, creating realistic and flawed characters that grow and develop with the story. There’s a real charm in these characters that really makes you care for them. Not only did I enjoy the sweetness of the story and the surprise twist at the end, I also enjoyed the erotic portions which aren’t overly sexual and shows the real love between the characters.I loved this book and look forward to reading more works by B.G. Thomas. less
