review 1: Bill Bryson writes non fiction that reads like fiction and he does it again. Who knew so much happened in the summer of 1927? Lindbergh and Byrd made transatlantic flights, Sacco and Vanzetti were executed,Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs, TV created, the last year of Model T released, and construction began on Mt. Rushmore are just a few events Bryson gives the back story to. A great read if you enjoy history.
review 2: Might be a four star book for another author, but Bryson has written better books than this one, hence the three stars. Still, if you are unfamiliar with the America of the 1920's, this would be a good primer with Bryson throwing in details you may not be aware of, such as the King of England asking Charles Lindberg how he relieved himself when flyin

Interesting book, but not exactly entertaining. Took me a while to get through it.
