review 1: 2014-09-07. I really enjoyed this one. It is probably the best of the series. While we didn't get a lot of her pet sitting rounds, we still had a bit (I love her with the greyhound) and was better for not getting overloaded with those details. Dixie was still very focused on pets throughout. Baldy ended up being an interesting character. The ending was a huge surprise to me but was perfect. Very enjoyable.
review 2: I thought this book was better than book #8 which was written by John Clements and his late mother, Blaize. ... morence she is constantly pet sitting and solving murders. And then, its the old man, Mr. Silverthorn! And he poses as many people. And his wife is a looney tune! And they are dead broke. Which is why Silverthorn stole the money from Beezy's Books, and killed the owner of the bookstore, Mr. Hoskins. But Mr. Hoskins had also painted a nude portrait of Mrs. Silverthorn many years before, and it had been hidden inside a book, which Mr. Silverthorn came across when going through all of her books to try and sell them to get some money for their estate. less
