review 1: I was really excited to read this book because it wasn't your typical love story but honestly, this book was hard to get through. Poor Jim! I felt bad for him throughout the entire book, Catherine doesn't deserve him at all! She was so annoying, one minute she cares for him, the next minute she ignores him then complains about how unfair she's being, just to ignore him again in another chapter. I literally had to skip some parts because it just dragged on. I didn't like how this book made their relationship sound taboo...I understand that this book was set in the early 1900's but it made it uncomfortable to read nonetheless. I'd like to read this type of romance again but in a contemporary setting.
review 2: Not enough romance. That is the only thing I found wr
... moreong with this book. Too much stuff happening around the hero and heroine that prevented the romance from being the story. With that out of the way – loved the story, loved the hero and heroine and I loved the romance. The hero was strong and brave, the heroine loved him for the person that he was and she never felt sorry for him. Love those tall dark and tortured heroes.BEST USE OF: A livery stableALPHA MALE 6SPUNKY HEROINE 6HOT SEX 8HEA(HAPPILY EVER AFTER) Oh yes!!PROLOGUE/EPILOGUE None – but the last chapters were the epilogue and it was satisfying!!Rating System9 - Excellent A keeper in the" Kindle Keeper Shelf"Heat Level5 – Scorching – Explicit lovemaking scenes. less
