review 1: I can't believe I made it as far as I did through this book. All I can say is maybe a 10 year old would like it with all of its potty jokes. I am so glad this was one of the free amazon kindle books one day and I didn't pay for it. I don't even know if I had made it through half of the book and I forced myself to go that far. The story was ridiculous and the characters were even worse, even for a goofy parody, especially Pita, they made him so love sick and dumb it was beyond ridiculous. The title sounds really good but that's all that was good about this book. I have read some good parodies even ones that were on the goofy side that weren't that bad but this is straight up dumb. There may have been a couple funny parts but they're buried so deep in crap good luck finding ... morethem! What a shame to The Hunger Games and any good well written parodies.
review 2: I've obviously only read the first chapter, but I think that's enough to form a primary opinion. It reminded me of Nightlight- which is natural, although the comparison isn't exactly a good thing. I thought Nightlight did to Bella what Tina Fay did to Sarah Palin. It was great because it captured Stephanie Meyer's style and distorted in a way that made you see the cracks in the original. This book not so much... The main character was more Belle Goose than Katniss Everdeen and let's face it that joke was only funny once. Plus, it's kind of lazy... I'm also not sure that making fun of The Hunger Games makes sense. It's somewhat satisfying to make fun of the prom queen (figuratively speaking) but I can't say the same about a shell shocked VFW. It's also easier to lampoon a fluffy supernatural love series than it is to do so to a think piece like THG. What's funny about mocking a dystopian society plagued by poverty and a totalitarian government bent on sacrificing the children of their population? Sorry, I'm not a fan. less

It's worth a dollar for a bit of a goof. Certainly no work of genius, though.

It was funny in parts, but mostly it was trying too hard to be funny.

Silly, and not worth the time... I never finished it.
