review 1: I've been enjoying this series, and I really wanted to like this book more than I did. For some reason it just fell flat for me. I never completely bought into them as a couple..... Baxter's side story made me sad as well. I hope that he's going to be okay, and I think that it would be interesting to have him get a HEA in a book. And again, what is the DEAL with that sheriff? Surely he is going to get his in the next book??
review 2: This book dealt with an extremely touchy subject. Of course, because of the genre of this novel, certain things had to be skimmed over. I think Ms. Novak's decision to set the major incident in the past and making sure the reader knows she has had therapy and many troubles in her life as a result of her trauma was a smart ... moreway to go.This particular review is extremely hard to write without spoilers and I hate spoilers. So all I'm going to say is a lot of issues were brought up in this book, not just with the hero and heroine but with the other friends in Whiskey Creek we've grown to love. This book cannot be skipped. less
