review 1: I'm really enjoying this series, Brenda Novak covers some really difficult subjects which are often avoided in romance but which I fell add an extra depth to her writing and give it an emotional punch.This book has been my favourite in the series so far, not only for the storyline but being 3 books in I now feel like I really know the characters and I'm wondering what's happening with each of the side characters as well as the main couple. If you want a romance that'll tug on your heart strings & bring a year to your eye then this should do it.*****SPOILERS******For me this book hit particularly close to home as I've had a number of relatives who've suffered from issues with their livers in the past couple of years, one of whom has had a successful liver transplant and one... more who is still waiting for a transplant. On the whole I thought this aspect of the story was handled really well, the only thing that bugged me was the post transplant recovery as it was so speedy, from my experience it's an awful lot harder
review 2: I enjoyed this Whiskey Creek novel, and the main couple. There are minor sideplots involving others characters that were not as intrusive as the previous book in this series, and since I've read Book 4 I know they exist to set up that story. If you are just starting the Whiskey Creek series, you might find this a more interesting story than the previous two - there's more suspense and conflict, and Callie is very likable. less
