review 1: This was weird. Not exactly awful, but not good at the same time. The murderer was stupidly obvious and I found that the story was more about Lillian than anything to do with the murders. I could have dealt with that fine if Lillian was in anyway a decent person, but she wasn't. She seems like she was a terribly selfish person even in the afterlife. Then there's Hannah who constantly brings herself down and questions every decision she makes because of Lillian. Yeah, it was an unhealthy friendship. Anyway, the love interest was sort of interesting and it had it's moments so I'll give this one 1.5, though I still think that's a bit generous.
review 2: I just finished this novel, and it's pretty haunting. I felt like the ending was wrapped up way too quick. I go... moret to the last 1/4 of the book and thought 'There is no way for this to end nicely.' It was rushed, to put it plainly, and it wasn't a graceful rush. More like a sprint to the end and the author felt that with the loveliness of the first 3/4s, the ending didn't have to live up to the standard set by the rest. Kind of disappointing. less
