review 1: I found this a difficult book to rate because I did not find it particularly exciting but I liked it nonetheless. It dealt with a more psychological horror, or a fear of the unknown, than physical which is much different from Mr. Talley's previous book "That which should not be." I enjoyed the premise and I felt that it was an appropriate length without dragging out. I also enjoyed where the book went and didn't have a problem turning the pages to get to the end. I did think it was a bit slow for my taste which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall it was a solid read and will definitely be on board for any of Mr. Talley's future work.
review 2: What a wild read! Such an interesting concept. I really, really enjoyed this book. It was tightly written -
... moreeven though it got off to a bit of a slow start - and had an interesting plot. Creepy too. My only beef is with two minor things: one, there were point of view shifts that sometimes weren't separated clearly ... as in, they happened from one paragraph to the next; two, I kind of lost track of the 'science' behind what was going on ... and therefore had no clue as to what had really happened to one of the characters in the end. Still, none of this detracted from my enjoyment of this sci-fi/horror novel. Recommended for any fans of the genre. less

Not for me. I kept blanking out with "Star Trek" style parts - space ships, light speed, etc.
