review 1: Doomwyte is the 20th book in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I love all the books in the series and this book is no exception. The action begins when at night time travelers start disappearing in the forests surrounding Redwall Abbey. The Abbey residents suspect that Doomwytes, the mysterious creatures are responsible for this and indeed they are! The Doomwytes are trying to extract revenge from the Abbey residents, who as legend goes had stolen the precious stone eyes from a statue that is very dear to the Doomwytes . The leader of the Doomwytes, a giant raven called Korvus Skurr is determined to recover the jewels. As part of the terror that Korvus Skurr launches at Redwall Abbey, he does not even spare the dibbuns (little children) who are threatened by large c... morearrion birds. The rest of the story is about how the Abbey residents manage to overcome the Doomwyte threat and restore peace in the Abbey? The book is very entertaining and filled with all the elements like food descriptions, action, riddles and memorable characters that make the Redwall series very appealing and easy to relate to.
review 2: THis book was definatly not as good as the others. It moved to fast for me and i couldn't connect with the characters like i like to. I am not sure if i would recomend it or reread it. it was kind of dry and did take a bit to get started. The story line was good and the characters were good too but it didn't elaborate on them like in the other books. Some people might like it so i geuss i reccomend it to those who like the series. less
