review 1: The beginning was a little iffy for me. The age of Charlotte varied. She was 17 when she met Vin. Then she was 18. She was 28, 29, 30, then back to 28 for the remainder of the book. Those kind of details bug me. But I am glad I stuck with it. I really liked this book! I really enjoy Ms. Moss' writing. Very engaging characters. Unique plots. It is really refreshing to me to actually like the heroine in a book. Though there were times I wanted to slap Charlotte upside the head. Good thing she had a friend like Kasey. I am looking forward to reading more from Brooke Moss.
review 2: This book is not only about the romance, that transcends race and class, between Charlotte (born into a wealthy family) and Vin (a Native American carny). It is also about the personal
... more growth of Charlotte. Charlotte always felt like a "wallflower" and was insecure especially compared to her beautiful socialite sisters. She was dumped at the altar and returned home to work for her family business though she really wanted to be a florist. Her parents shared a dysfunctional relationship and her mother and sisters would have been a perfect cast for "Housewives of Portland". I enjoyed the romance between Charlotte and Vin. It was so sweet and Vin was truly swoonworthy. He was so tender, loving and patient with her. less
