review 1: This was a fascinating book about the murder of one of the signers of the declaration of independence. It had suspense. It had irony. It had some historical background that is lesser known. It includes information that demonstrates the price ALL of us have paid for racism. It demonstrates unintended consequences of some social reforms. It was an easy read (it took me less than a day total reading time).
review 2: It was not my type of book - full of historical facts about George Wythe being murdered by his grand nephew. Some of it was interesting - especially the parts describing Richmond, VA and the Capitol area and his relationship with Thomas Jefferson, but there were too many areas that were long winded for pages at a time when a simple paragraph (or senten
... morece) would have been enough. Lots of footnotes and references - a lot of research was done on this book! less
