review 1: Things are even hotter and the stakes are much higher in part two of the Trust No Bitch series. Kiam is still holding it down as the loyal, ruthless street king, even while lovingly tending to his home and woman. A band of murderous robberies have taken place, leaving the city on high alert. No one seems to know anything about the Blood Money crew who are jacking folks for the money and leaving almost no one alive to tell about it. But there is treachery in Kiam’s camp. As he deals full out with his team and other street urchin trying to dominate the arena, guns are slinging and people are ending up missing. The message is clear: Kiam is not to be messed with!Big Zo is up to his usual games of manipulation and control. No one is exempt as this selfish man thinks only ... moreof himself and will use anyone as a pawn to get what he wants. It’s every man for himself….whether he (or she) knows it or not.The ties between a parent and child can be a hard one to sever, especially when the parent’s sole intent is to control everything in his path. Pulling away and being true to oneself can be dangerous, even deadly. But what’s a girl to do with a lonely heart and a desire for more than big houses, fancy cars and endless trips to the mall. There has to be more to life than that. Big Zo continues to puppet Lissha, giving her everything but the one thing she truly wants. In this game of cat and mouse, soldiers on all sides are falling left and right. It’s hard to know who to trust. Who will survive? This book had me at times feeling a love/hate type reaction to certain characters. It just goes to show that there is good and evil inside every person and answers are never black and white. There are a million shades of gray that make us who we are and that affects what we do.Ca$h and Nene weave stories so intense a reader has to stop for a moment and just sigh. Many people are about that life. It always amazes me how the costs to play never seems to counted until someone close dies or the feds drop down and take a person’s freedom. I’m not judging. It just makes me wonder how can we reach people before it comes to that. There are always so many lessons in the books these two write that if heeded could change a whole generation and how urban life is lived. Another 5 star read. Can’t wait to see how it all comes to a head in book 3.
review 2: I love this series! I am soo into it that I am sad that I'm on the last one. I can't believe the things I pieced together in this part, definitely a great book with all the twists and turns I never saw some these things coming. But damn Big Zo is definitely not who I thought he was at all. Kiam better watch his back. I'm saddened at the fact that Faydrah is dead along with their baby, Everyone is going to feel it now. I know Kiam is going to go off. Onto the last book with all the answers! less
