review 1: After i finished the book, i was happy that i had completed it but at the same time felt a feeling of sadness, due to the fact that Paisley Hanover and her adventures had accompanied me for a great deal of January, and afternoons at the beach. The whole story had basically been about problems in high school, which i was familiar with, and the constant fight to stand up to those who treated other people wrong. Paisley is actually a role model in this story. She called herself the "queen of the Unpops" and had sworn to defend them throughout their school years. Therefore, she wanted to become class president. Her rival was Peter Hutchinson, or Hutch, a popular jock who mistreated everyone. He had also appeared in a picture with Paisley's best friend, drinking at a party and ... morethe picture had gone viral. Paisley was now on the search for who the person who spread it was. The conclusion to the story was that Hutch was accused of bullying, and his charge as class president was taken away and given to Paisley, who gave it to Cate Maduro, another friend. She also discovered that the person responsible for making the picture goo viral had been Carreyn, Jen's best friend! However, things got better at the end of the book and all was well. This story clearly describes teenager problems that we face everyday, and simply gives us something to compare to our daily lives including boys, friend troubles, and schoolwork -_-
review 2: High School students will gravitate towards this trendy little book about high school drama. Paisley Hanover is a fighter for the unpopular kids and begins the book by winning a student government election, yet not being awarded with the title. Her classmates are in an uproar because they know she won and go to the vice principal's office to demand a recount. He allows a recount by handing them the shredded ballots. They stage a protest and in the meantime Paisley and her friends have a ton of additional drama that they are going through. There is a sexting incident which doesn't look good for Paisley's friend, Jen. Paisley has more than one boyfriend that she is juggling and doesn't know what to do about and Paisley and her protesters are getting slammed in the school newspaper. Drama does not bring Paisley and her friends down. Together, they outwit it all in a funny, cute, drama packed book. less
