review 2: Ok, Calvert's stories are all the same, just with new faces and new places. And speaking of places, her last book was set in Austin and I read it just after going to Austin for the first time, so I knew the places she talked about in the book. That happened again in this book, which is set in Houston and Galveston. I just went to Houston and Galveston for the first time a few weeks ago. There's even a scene on the beach by Pleasure Pier and I was in that exact spot! Fun :-)On the not so fun side, having lived through 2 hurricanes and a tornado in the past 6 years, I could relate to what the characters were going through when Glorietta's rips through. I loved the secondary characters in this book, they made the story worth reading: Fletcher, Drew, Emma, and Shrek (yes, even the dog...he was awesome!)Finally, I loved the reminder that yes, we need to have faith in God, but we also need to do our part. We can't just ask for something and then sit back and do nothing. It's like the saying goes: "Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you."-Saint Augustine less
