review 1: I really liked this one; I've always enjoyed stories of redemption and I don't think you can do much better than the tale of a fallen angel. Unlike some other novellas, I found myself completely satisfied with this and I felt it ended in a good place; I don't find myself sitting here wishing for at least an epilogue. I'd love to see more along these lines in the future...perhaps with Michael and Lucifer? Either way, this was a really enjoyable read and I know I'll read it again in the future.
review 2: I suppose liberal and/or gay Christians/Jews could appreciate this short story to its full extent and feel the romanticism that was surely intended to be felt.As for me I tried to read it like a romantic fantasy or something based on myth as I would read a tal... moree based on Greek mythology but I doubly failed.First, the religious mysticism on which this M/M tale is based is irrepressible and cannot be neutralised.Second, even if I managed to do that, I never could stand god-like characters in fantasies as I think they are simply cheating the reader out of a sensible story.The only thing that could have redeemed (pun intended) this story for me would have been a sublime writing. It is professional but nothing more than that. less
