review 1: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this book! I have many homesteading books and this one takes the cake. My husband was afraid I was buying another book with the same information in it as all the other homesteading books out there- but he was wrong. This book introduced me to so many new things! ie. Luscious landscaping (landscaping with edibles), growing and harvesting wheat and other grains, cider making, beer making and so much more! I can't recommend this book enough- I love it!
review 2: This book is a really good starter book for those interested in gardening, basics of brewing or sausage making, or raising livestock. It is thorough enough to help anyone to design garden plots, start seed, choose plants including fruit trees, cooking and using your produce, learning chi... morecken and goat breeds, and onward. Even if you have some knowledge, the range covered in this book will likely fill in some holes. Also, I enjoyed the easy bite sized chapters and the upbeat feel. I think this is a really good resource for those who want to be more self reliant. less
