review 1: When anarchist begin bombing aristocrats, Dizzy asks India Black to return to the Crown's service in her first solo mission. The two instruct her that a prostitute, Martine, working in a rival brothel has connections to the anarchist. So, India poaches the girl, gains information, and infiltrates the group. But, imagine her surprise when who should appear at the first meeting but French. As the two try to remain connected to the cell long enough to catch the evil Grigori, India must deal with rain slowed business, pursue details about her mother, and fight off a series of attacks from an unknown source all while working with French and the ever odiferous Vincent. The hijinks include bombing a major event and kidnapping the prime minister before catching the bad guys. ... more A lighthearted spy romp with a strong heroine, witty repartee, and lots of action.
review 2: These guys are like the worse spies ever, the plot written self consciously, and the wit forced at times. And yet, I love our bumbling pair, as they make clearly, super obviously bad decisions. They have so much luck or equally silly counterplayers. I adore it, actually, before anyone comments. I think it is refreshing, and they seem like real, regular people at times, with cute scenes. I do dislike the way women are described who are NOT india black, but I like to tell myself it is just India's frank vanity. I like an honest girl. This would probably be more at home as an historically inaccurate/very romatized manga. :) I can't wait for the next book, they make me grin. Especially in a world full of super perfect genius cankill10guysatonce spies. less

Book #3 in the series. India and French investigate anarchist groups operating in London.

These fare better when I add "humor" as a shelf. :-) Enjoyed.
