review 1: 2nd in this series about a madam from a house of "ill repute" in London. India has done work for the British government before and one again is recruited to go into disguise as a ladies maid on a royal visit to Scotland with Queen Victoria. Someone is trying to kill the Queen and makes various attempts on her life. India and her partners French and Vincent seek to find the killer in Balmoral Castle where the Queen is staying.
review 2: India travels to Scotland in the guise of a (not terribly good) maid, in pursuit of an assassin. If you are reading this in hopes of seeing India get together with French, it's not going to happen here. I actually noticed in the course of this book that, while India talks very crudely about sex in the course of her business,
... more there's not actually much sex to be had in the stories, which I find I little frustrating. I feel I am being strung along. less

A fun romp through Scotland. Supporting characters very good. Looking forward to book 3
