review 1: 4.5 StarsThis was a sweet read that quickly sucked me in. Jared has his life somewhat back on track after Brier frees him from Rick. He's working at a little gas station, he has his own room in the security dorms and he has his friend, Brier. He also has Seb, who can't really seem to explain to himself why he wants Jared or even admit how much he feels for him, but it's there and those feeling aren't going anywhere. Still, Jared is plagued by the demons of his past and when one of those demons returns to his new life, he finds that what he has now, who he is, and the possibilities of his future are worth fighting for.This was a very enjoyable read and a wonderful addition to Carol's Bodyguards in Love series.
review 2: This story is short so it's hard to gi... moreve a review without saying everything that happened. One thing bears mentioning though and that is the fact that this is really not an erotic-romance like most of Lynne's books. Due to the main characters past the romance between the two develops slowly. Even when they are both clearly attracted to each other, they are cautious because of the hurt they have experienced.Jared is such a sad character that at times i almost wanted to cry from the things we were told happened to him. I felt pity for how he reacted when someone inadvertently brought a flashback from his abused past. Yet i was glad to see Lynne show how resilient a person can be.Overall i was satisfied because Ms. Lynne gave us a realistic setting with a good dose of fiction to tie it all together in the end. less
